Why did you decide to serve the mission at Farm of the Child?

My husband Curtis and I have felt a call to service for some time now. I first discovered and fell in love with the Farm while serving as a summer volunteer in 2010. My time at the Farm solidified my commitment to and love for its mission. I deeply admire its focus on the spiritual, mental, physical and emotional formation of the children as well as the emphasis on community, spirituality, simplicity and service. After visiting the Farm on our honeymoon, Curtis and I began discerning returning to the Farm as long-term missionaries. We feel extremely blessed and excited to join such a wonderful mission!

What do you hope to experience through your ministry at Farm of the Child?

Through our ministry at the Farm, I hope that Curtis and I will deepen our relationship with God and our vocation of marriage as well as gain a better understanding of God’s will in our lives. Furthermore, I desire to experience Christ’s presence in each person I meet, to learn from them, to grow with them, and to share in God’s boundless love and mercy.

What are you most excited about/nervous for as you prepare to arrive at the Farm?

I am very excited to see the kids again and to meet the kids I do not know yet! I feel blessed to have so much time to get to know and form meaningful relationships with the kids, house parents, fellow missionaries, and the surrounding community. I am nervous about speaking Spanish again and hope it will come back with practice and patience.
