Why did you decide to serve the mission at Farm of the Child?

I have decided to serve as a missionary for Farm of the Child through a long process of prayer and discernment that started back in 2006 on a FOCUS mission trip to Mexico. That experience was life changing for me. I received my vocation to become a nurse, my love for the Latino culture and most importantly where my relationship with our Lady began. Since then, my desire has continuously grown to serve on missions again with children. I am truly blessed with a beautiful family and I have always desired to serve and share the love I have received with others.

What do you hope to experience through your ministry at Farm of the Child?

I pray I am open to whatever graces and growths the Lord desires for me. I would like to gain humility and a greater understanding of what it means to be truly present to others.

What are you most excited about/nervous for as you prepare to arrive at the Farm?

I am very excited for the opportunity to serve the children, families and the other missionaries, for simple living, new friends and experiences. I am nervous that I lack the knowledge and skills to serve effectively but that is where I must trust in our Lord to provide!
