Coordinador(a) Clinico(a)

El/la Coordinador/a Clínico/a se encargará de los procesos clínicos para realizar la misión de Finca del Niño, la cual es “cuidar de niños necesitados y promover el desarrollo de una sociedad productiva de devotos cristianos.”  Esta persona supervisará a los/as misioneros/as y empleados/as bajo las áreas de Psicología, Trabajo Social, Clínica Médica, Vida Familiar, y Programa de Adolescentes, fortaleciendo comunicación entre todas partes.  El/ella guiará al Equipo Clínico, aportará supervisión clínica, apoyará en el desarrollo de planes de tratamiento, y asegurará la ejecución de tales planes.  El buen candidato será un/a psicólogo/a o trabajador/a social licenciado/a y entrenado/a, será cristiano/a practicante, habrá vivido en Latinoamérica y/o la cultura latinoamericana, y tendrá el español como lengua materna (dominio del inglés preferido, pero no requerido).  Esta persona reportará directamente a la Directora de Finca del Niño.

Responsabilidades principales:

Procesos Clínicos

Guiar y dirigir el proceso integral de sanación para cada niño bajo el cuido de Finca del Niño

  • Brindar atención terapéutica de mejor calidad para los/as niños/as y habitantes de Finca del Niño, bajo los estatutos y leyes pertinentes, El Código de la Niñez nacional, y los procedimientos de Finca del Niño
  • Proveer terapia a los casos más extremos
  • Dirigir reuniones semanales y emergentes del Equipo Clínico
  • Apoyar al Equipo Clínico en el análisis y la resolución de casos
  • Supervisar el cumplimento puntual de diagnósticos clínicos y planes de tratamiento para cada niño/a, colaborando con profesionales externos cuando sea necesario
  • Supervisar el desarrollo y la ejecución de planes individuales de tratamiento
  • Revisar casos para evaluar avances y hacer recomendaciones clínicas
  • Crear y mantener protocolos y procedimientos clínicos a nivel organizacional

Supervisión

Proveer supervisión, dirección, y desarrollo profesional en todos aspectos clínicos

  • Dar supervisión al Equipo Clínico de trabajadores/as sociales y psicólogos/as misioneros/as
  • Evaluar la eficacia de procesos clínicos y junto con el personal, crear mejores técnicas de ejecución según normas éticas y prácticas basadas en evidencia
  • Reunir individualmente con cada trabajador/a social y psicólogo/a para promover cada vez un mejor rendimiento de sus actividades a nivel individual y a nivel del Equipo Clínico, y aprobar apuntes de casos
  • Reunir regularmente con la Directora y Coordinadora de Vida Familiar para monitorear la seguridad y el proceso clínico de sanación dentro de los hogares familiares de Finca del Niño
  • Supervisar programas de entrenamiento para integrar a todo el personal en el proceso clínico

Comunicación

Facilitar la diseminación apropiada de información y retroalimentación para brindar el mejor servicio clínico

  • Reunir regularmente con las Coordinadoras de Vida Familiar, Educación, y Vida Espiritual para compartir información e integrar procesos clínicos en todas las áreas de la vida de los niños
  • Redactar informes trimestrales a la Directora y el Comité de Protección Integral
  • Comunicar necesidades organizacionales y deficiencias de recursos a la Directora
  • Colaborar con consultores externos para gestionar una transición fluida de iniciativas clínicas recientes
  • Supervisar el Equipo Clínico en cuanto al manejo de registros completos y apuntes de caso

Requisitos:

Título de Máster universitario o más alto

Psicología, Trabajo Social, u otro campo relacionado al bienestar de niños (o experiencia equivalente)

  • Licencia profesional o credencial (puede ser temporalmente caducada)
  • 5+ años experiencia profesional trabajando con niños
  • 2+ años experiencia escribiendo diagnósticos clínicos y planes de tratamiento, y supervisión
  • Comprensión y utilización de modelos de tratamiento clínico, por ejemplo el Cognitivo, Cognitivo-conductual, y Psicoterapia

Cristiano/a Practicante

  • Adopción de la misión de Finca del Niño
  • Disponibilidad a vivir, defender, y promover los pilares del Proyecto (espiritualidad, sencillez, comunidad, servicio)
  • Dispuesto/a a trabajar con Religiosos/as, misioneros/as, y empleados/as en un ambiente católico fuerte; experiencia en tal ambiente preferido, pero no requerido

Conciencia Cultural

  • Ha vivido en Latinoamérica o comunidades latinas
  • Ser buen ejemplo para los niños de Finca del Niño en todo momento
  • Capacidad para relacionar bien con los diversos miembros de la comunidad Finca del Niño

Español como lengua materna

Dominio del inglés preferido, pero no requerido

Apto a comprometerse a la posición por un mínimo de 3 años

Licencia de conducir preferido

Candidatos finales se someterán a un chequeo de antecedentes criminales y una prueba de drogas como requisito previo para su consideración por la posición

Farm of the Child is NOW HIRING for a Clinical Services Coordinator.

Coordinator of Clinical Services Job Annoucement

The role of the Coordinator of Clinical Services is to supervise the Clinical Team so that Finca del Niño can realize its mission to “care for needy children and promote the development of a productive society of devout Christians.”  The clinical coordinator will oversee missionaries and Honduran staff in the areas of Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Family Life and the Adolescent Program, ensuring that clear communication exists among all parties. S/he will lead the Clinical Team and will help each social worker and psychologist develop individual treatment plans for children, provide weekly supervision, and ensure execution of treatment plans.  A successful candidate will be a trained and licensed psychologist or social worker, practicing Christian, have lived in a Latino culture or Latin America, and be fully fluent in Spanish (English proficiency preferred but not required). This person shall be accountable to and report to the Director of Finca del Niño.

Primary Responsibilities:

Clinical Services

To lead and direct the integral healing process for each child in the care of Finca del Niño

  • Ensure quality therapeutic care to the children and residents of Finca del Niño, in compliance with local laws, statutes, the Honduran Código de la Niñez, and Finca del Niño policies and procedures
  • Provide therapy to children with greatest needs
  • Lead weekly and ad hoc Clinical Team meetings
  • Assist Clinical Team in analyzing and resolving case issues
  • Oversee the prompt completion of clinical assessments for each child, conducting and/or coordinating with external professionals when necessary
  • Oversee the development and execution of individual treatment plans
  • Review cases to evaluate progress and make clinical recommendations
  • Contribute to and maintain standard protocols and procedures of Finca del Niño

Supervision

Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and professional development

  • Provide clinical team supervision to full-time missionary staff of social workers and psychologists
  • Evaluate effectiveness of services and in collaboration with staff, devise improved techniques of implementation consistent with ethical standards and evidence-based practices
  • Meet individually with each social worker and psychologist to promote continuous individual and Clinical Team improvement and to approve weekly case notes
  • Meet regularly with the Director and the Coordinator of Family Life to jointly monitor safety and clinical process within family homes
  • Oversee the implementation of appropriate training programs for all employees and missionary staff to support clinical services

Communication

Facilitate the appropriate flow of information and feedback in order to optimize clinical services provided

  • Meet regularly with area Coordinators of Family Life, Education, and Spiritual Life to share information and integrate clinical processes across all areas of the children’s lives
  • Compose quarterly updates to Director of Finca del Niño and Integral Protection Committee of Farm of the Child USA
  • Communicate organizational needs and resource deficiencies to the Director
  • Collaborate with two existing external consultants to ensure smooth and effective transition of recent clinical initiatives
  • Ensure thorough and complete record-keeping and case notes by Clinical Team

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, or other child welfare-related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Professional license or certification (may be temporarily lapsed)
  • 5+ years professional experience working with children
  • 2+ years experience writing clinical assessments and treatment plans, and some supervisory experience
  • Understanding and utilization of clinical treatment models, such as Cognitive, Cognitive Behavioral, and Psychotherapy

Practicing Christian

  • Embrace the mission of the project
  • Be willing and able to live, defend, and promote the community pillars of Finca del Niño (spirituality, simplicity, community and service)
  • Open to working with Religious, missionaries, and staff in a strongly Catholic setting; prior experience in such an environment preferred, but not required

Cultural Awareness

  • Has lived inLatin America or Latino communities
  • Serve as a positive role model for the children of Finca del Niño at all times
  • Ability to relate well to the diverse members of the Finca del Niño community

 Fully fluent and professionally proficient in Spanish, native speaker preferred

English proficiency a plus, but not required

Able to commit to position for a minimum of 3 years

Has a valid driver’s license

 Final candidates must submit to a criminal background check and drug screening as a prerequisite for the being considered for the position.

SEEK 2013 Scholarships Available!

Farm of the Child is offering ten $200 scholarships to help support the participation of seeking young adults in SEEK 2013.  Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award via email on or before December 20th.  Scholarship money will be presented, in person, at the Farm of the Child booth at SEEK 2013 in Orlando.  Farm of the Child will be present at SEEK 2013 to share our mission and vision for how YOU can carry the love of Christ to others, especially to God’s most vulnerable and precious children.

Volunteer House 120104

This past month we have been very grateful for many things in our community.  We were able to share in a communal feast with a variety of Finca neighbors, employees and friends.  It was a joy to share the culture of the United States with all of them, as they continually invite us into their homes to share in their culture.  Cooking for around 100 people isn’t easy so we had to break into groups to accomplish this task.  Here is what each of us was responsible for and little update on our lives here at the Farm… Read more →

The Humble Life of Vincent Pescatore

Leaving his job as a highly paid corporate auditor, he set out to build houses for the poor. On a recent mission trip, at age 35, he was killed. When Vincent Pescatore’s plane crashed Jan. 3 in Honduras, he left behind not only his wife, Zulena, five children ages 7 to seven months, relatives, friends, and associates. Those mourning the 35 year-old Pescatore also include scores of Latin American men, women, and children who found a home, education, and health care at Pescatore’s Farm of the Child. Read more →
